Sambonet Fish Kettle

Sambonet Fish Kettle

Expression of an elegant masterpiece of engineering, hard to copy because of the complex pressing, the Sambonet's Fish Kettle is known for the numerous awards it has collected (Compasso d'Oro in 1970), and for being exhibited at New York MoMa museum.

The Fish-Kettle originated from the study of nature, not with an intent to imitate it, but to be taken as a starting point. It is indeed like a shell but has two openings, while a shell has just one. Just as Roberto Sambonet described it at the time of its launch in 1957, the Fish-Kettle is now more vital than ever. Expression of an elegant masterpiece of engineering, hard to copy because of the complexity of the pressing, the Fish-Kettle is known around the world thanks to the numerous awards it has collected (Compasso D'oro in 1970) and for being exhibited at the MOMA museum in New York. Entirely in stainless steel, the Fish-Kettle was designed to be a multipurpose item going beyond its original function for cooking fi sh en papillote: it can be a serving-tray, a container for small objects or for desk knick-knacks. Sambonet focuses on objects having a specifi c function but alluding to various uses. The utensil found in the kitchen can be used in other contexts, planned from the very beginning.
