The Fish-Kettle originated from the study of nature, not with an intent to imitate it, but to be taken as a starting point. It is indeed like a shell but has two openings, while a shell has just one. Just as Roberto Sambonet described it at the time of its launch in 1957, the Fish-Kettle is now more vital than ever. Entirely in stainless steel, the Fish-Kettle was designed to be a multipurpose item going beyond its original function for cooking fi sh en papillote: it can be a serving-tray, a container for small objects or for desk knick-knacks. Sambonet focuses on objects having a specifi c function but alluding to various uses. The utensil found in the kitchen can be used in other contexts, planned from the very beginning.
