Sambonet Filet Toiras flatware: a classic collection in steel and silver
Filet Toiras is one of Sambonet's classic flatware collections: a nineteenth-century drawing, recognizable by the raised filet that follows the outline of the handle, across a range that covers the whole table and can be extended piece by piece.
The filet that gives the collection its name
The defining trait of Filet Toiras is the raised line running along the edge of the handle and around its shaped tip. The motif comes from refined Piedmontese baroque and from post-Napoleonic English style, carried here with regular proportions and polished surfaces that catch the light on the table. The same profile is found on forks, knives, spoons and serving pieces, so a table put together over several years still reads as one.
Steel, silverplate and PVD finishes
Filet Toiras flatware is made in stainless steel. The mirror finish leaves the surface polished; silverplated steel adds the layer of silver of the goldsmithing tradition; the vintage version softens the shine for a quieter effect; gold PVD and Diamond White Gold bring color without altering the shape. Knives are available with a one-piece handle, shaped from a single piece of steel, or with a hollow Orfèvre handle.
Sets, single pieces and personalization
The range includes dinner sets for 6 and 12 people, a dessert set, a fish set, serving sets, ladles and cake servers, alongside pieces sold individually: dinner, fruit, butter and steak knives, dinner, fruit and dessert forks, dinner and fruit spoons, tea and espresso spoons. Part of the collection is covered by the Tailor Made service, which allows the flatware to be personalized. This is why Filet Toiras also works as a first purchase: you start with an essential set and add the missing pieces over the years.
